Terms of service

Business Tutor offers one-on-one tutoring, group sessions and exam prep for SFU Beedie courses, online and in person. We are an independent service and are not affiliated with or endorsed by Simon Fraser University.

You need a free account to book. Keep your login details to yourself, give us accurate information, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.

A booking on the website is a request. It becomes a session once we confirm it by email, normally within 24 hours. The confirmation email states the time and the place, or the Zoom link for online sessions. You can change or cancel a booking from your account page.

Prices are listed on the Pricing page in Canadian dollars. The price shown when you book is an estimate based on the session type and length. You pay after the session, not before. If a session runs longer at your request, the extra time is billed at the same hourly rate. Coupons cannot be exchanged for cash and one coupon applies per booking.

If you are not happy with a session, tell us within 24 hours of the session and you will not be charged, or you will receive a full refund if you have already paid.

Cancelling or moving a session is free. The details are in our Cancellation policy.

We help you understand the material and prepare well. We cannot guarantee a particular grade, because your result depends on your own work and your instructor's marking. Our tutors do not complete graded work for students; see the Academic integrity policy.

Notes, worked examples and session reports we give you are for your personal study. Please do not sell them or post them publicly. Course materials from SFU belong to SFU and your instructors.

Sessions should be respectful on both sides. We may end a session or close an account in cases of harassment, abuse, or requests to break academic integrity rules.

Referral rewards, when offered, are described on your account page. We may change or end the referral program, and we may withhold rewards for fake or self-referrals.

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected to a session is limited to the amount you paid for that session. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under British Columbia consumer protection law.

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada that apply there.
